Item Quality
Hello! I have played a bit of GW: Factions before, but not very extensively. I have just purchased GW: Nightfall, and am very interested in picking it back up, though there is one thing I could not really figure out in my short time playing before. I know that different item qualities are represented by different colors of the item name, and I see people saying things like "selling 2 Greens, 3 Purples, and 1 Gold". But what is the actual order of these, from just normal items up to the best of the best?
And where do you get the best of the best items? Is there something similar to raiding like in other MMOs? Or are they PvP rewards? Thanks in advance for any insights! |

Greens are in a league of there own, since you can't change the stats on them what so ever, but they are mostly (except for some starter green max dmg, max stats).
The rest is in this order: Gold > Purple > Blue > White (but a max purple is just as usefull as a gold if the color doesn't bother you), where whites are mostly the merchantsfodder. All these lasts don't necessary have maxed stats, but they can be upgraded with mods (which isn't possible with greens). But would like to warn you, only max dmg items will reward you with ppl wanting to buy it, and some more advance if you would be going to sell items, don't mod them it won't really help driving up the price, since people want to mod the weapons to there own desires. I found it better to sell the items separate from the mods for the return cashflow. I buy my items for the skin, not the modding of somebody else! Modding I do myself. Hope this helps somewhat. Very good explanation
I would add that all the items except white and green have removable parts. eg Bow Grip/ Bow String and in nightfall Inscriptions. All these add up to the bonuses the better items have A Sundering bow of shelter would have a sundering bowstring and a grip of shelter giving armor protection, it could also have an inscription. Point is even if the item isnt worth keeping part of it could be removed and used on another similar item. Some addons are considered "perfect" because they are the maximum to be found, +30 health is one. A superior salvage kit has a chance to remove such parts for re-use. |
